The English Church Heidelberg
Part of the Anglican Diocese in Europe

Welcome to The English Church Heidelberg

We are an English-speaking Anglican community, a part of the Church of England, Diocese of Europe. We worship every Sunday at the Erlöserkirche (Church of the Redeemer), located at Plöck 44 in the heart of Old Town Heidelberg.

Worship Times:
  • First Sunday of the Month: 12 pm
  • Second Sunday of the Month: 10:30 am
  • Third Sunday of the Month: 12 pm
  • Fourth Sunday of the Month: 12 pm
  • Fifth Sunday of the Month: 12 pm

There are occasional exceptions to these hours, so it is good to check current services in advance.
All generations are welcome. Please see young church to see our children's programs.

The church building is not fully barrier-free, as there are two small steps at the entrance. However, people needing assistance will find helpers ready to assist in any way possible. Email a the chaplain to let them know you will be attending the service and we can better serve your requests.

After the service there is opportunity to get to know each other while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea.

Many are with us just for a short time, others are long-term residents in this city and region. We come from different continents and countries, different cultures and traditions, and enjoy the diversity this brings to our church.

We welcome you to “Come and See!” (John 1, 46)

It is a priority in the Church of England to ensure that all children, young people and adults in our congregation and community are safe and welcome. To assist with this each congregation has a Safeguarding Officer. Ours is Churchwarden Petrina Ratty, Tel. 06222 52748. The Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) for the Diocese in Europe is Grace Fagan: grace.fagan@churchofengland.org Tel. +44(0)0207 898 1163; Mobile +44(O) 7245 536 259.
