Holy Communion at 12 noon The Revd Christine Bloomfield
On this Sunday there will be a special Mothering Sunday celebration in which families and children will be invited to participate. The service dates back hundreds of years in the UK, where people were encouraged once a year to return to their home or ‘mother’ church or cathedral. Today Mothering Sunday is celebrated in churches to acknowledge and thank God for the love and care of mothers and to affirm our invitation and acceptance to be children of God. Of course, all will be welcome at the service. After it we meet for pot-luck lunch at the parish room in Kaiserstraße 5, Heidelberg-Weststadt. If you can, please bring a salad or something sweet to share.
After lunch, this busy Sunday continues with the Annual Church Meeting, which members of our Electoral Roll are especially encouraged to attend. See details under News. Halfway through the meeting we break for coffee and cake!
