Courses
Safe-guarding requirements
Safeguarding measures are required to promote a safer environment and culture. The following courses are recommended for everyone and is mandatory for the council members. The members who wish to be nominated to the chaplaincy council and have not completed the following courses can do so later after being elected as the council member.
A further interesting course online is: Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
Resources within Germany and the Heidelberg area
In Germany the round table on sexual misconduct (Runder Tisch „Sexueller Kindesmissbrauch“) recommends in their guidelines (Leitlinien zur Einschaltung der Strafverfolgungsbehörden) that law enforcement authorities be informed when there is evidence of an offence under section 13 of the Criminal Code (‘Crimes against sexual self-determination’).
Another help line for victims of criminal activity is Weisser Ring. They offer not only a telephone hotline but advice for victims of a wide range of criminal activity including mobbing and fraud as well.
The police station responsible for our church is: Polizeirevier Heidelberg-Mitte · Römerstr. 2-4, Heidelberg 06221 990
The national helpline (0800 22 555 30) is available for all affected by sexual violence, whether it be the individual themself, relatives, professionals or any interested party. It is a point of contact for people seeking relief, counseling, support, advice, or information. They also provide web services under The Independant Commissioner for Child Sexual Abuse Issues. The following are two important web pages: Help and Prevention Services and the Office of the Independent Commissioner.
Help is also available from the following organizations:
For violence against women and children:
